Homework: Homework will be submitted through a computer grading program called WebAssign®. Student accounts can be purchased on-line at webassign.net or through the UA Bookstore (the access could come together with the book you bought). Our assigned class key is arizona 6308 7122. Deadlines and point values for each assignment will be posted in your class account when you login. In addition to that there is a hand-written assignment (Review Exersizes and Problems to Chapter 7, page 361, ex. 2, 4, 6, 8, &hellip, 144, 146) which is due Thu, Oct 15. Hand-written homework could be turned in in 1) class; 2) MATH 108 room (before 4:30pm); 3) MATH 623 office (slide it under the door if I'm not there). Late homework submissions will not be accepted. A final homework score equivalent to 120 points will be assigned.
Tests: The three in-class tests are scheduled for Tue, Sep 15, Thu, Oct 22, and Thu, Dec 03. The 1st test is worth 50 points, others are worth 100. The final exam is at Mon, Dec 14, 8:00am–10:00am (I don't know the location yet). During the test the calculators can be used, but not the notes. The University's Exam regulations for final exam week will be strictly followed, in particular those regarding students with multiple exams on a single day. The regulations can be found at registrar.arizona.edu/schedule094/exams/examrules.htm.
Grades: The total number of points available on tests and homework is 600. More points — higher grade. Learn more at “how grades work” page about points↔grade correspondence, about withdrawing from the course, and about incomplete grade.
Graphing calculators: A graphing calculator is an important tool that will be used in this course. Students are expected to have a working calculator for each test and exam. No calculator swapping is permitted during test periods.
Attendance: Students are expected to attend every scheduled class and to be familiar with the University Class Attendance policy as it appears in the General Catalog. It is the student's responsibility to keep informed of any announcements, syllabus adjustments or policy changes made during scheduled classes. Students are expected to behave in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and the Code of Academic Integrity. The guiding principle of academic integrity is that a student's submitted work must be the student's own. University policies can be found at http://deanofstudents.web.arizona.edu/uapolicies.
