A Macintosh OS (7.5.3 or 7.5.5) - PPP/Slirp Configuration

***Note: I am making the assumption that you have correctly
installed the following components:
- Macintosh System Update 7.5 Update 2.0 or System Update
7.5.5 (recommended).
- Open Transport 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 (recommended)
- Open Transport PPP 1.0
- Netscape Navigator 3.01 (recommended)
Instructions To Configure PPP on your Macintosh.
If you have followed the above instructions successfully,
then you are ready to run Netscape Navigator from home over
your phone line using slirp.
- Open Control Panels.
- Open PPP (Open Transport PPP 1.0).
- Click "Connect" button.
- Enter the following at CCIT login prompt and press return
key: rlogin ame2.math.arizona.edu
- Enter username at login prompt and press return key.
- Enter password at password prompt and press return key.
- Press return key a couple times.
- Enter the following at command prompt and press return
key: exec slirplogin -P
- Click "Continue" button.
- Run Netscape Navigator once Status displays a
send/received indicator.
Open Transport 1.1.1 or 1.1.2
- Open Control Panels.
- Open TCP/IP (Open Transport 1.1.1 or 1.1.2).
- Select "PPP" under "Connect via:" menu.
- Select "Manually: under "Configure: menu".
- Enter "10.0.2.15" in "IP address" field.
- Enter "128.196.224.2" in "Name server addr.:" field.
- Enter "math.arizona.edu" in "Search domains:" field.
- Quit and save changes to the current configurations.

Open Transport PPP 1.0
- Open Control Panels.
- Open PPP (Open Transport PPP 1.0).
- Select "Guest" under "Connection" options.
- Enter "6219600" in "Number:" field.
- Click "Options..." button.
- Click "Redialing" menu.
- Select "Off" option under "Redial:" menu.
- Click "Connection" menu.
- Select "Connect automatically when starting
TCP/IP applications" option.
- Select "Use verbose logging" option.
- Select "Flash icon in menu bar while connected"
option.
- Unselect "Prompt every 5 minutes to maintain
connection" option.
- Unselect "Disconnect if idle for 10 minutes"
option.
- Click "Protocol" menu.
- Select "Allow error correction and compression in
modem" option.
- Select "Use TCP header compression" option.
- Select "Connect to a command-line host:" option.
- Click "OK" button.
- Quit and save changes to the current configuration.
