With the understanding that many research projects may involve a significant computational component, the Department of Mathematics provides computer accounts, upon request, for use by URAs. These accounts provide access to commercial mathematical software, such as Matlab, Maple, and Mathematica (among others). The accounts can be accessed in the Math Center Library and Commons Room, and can also be accessed over the internet. Furthermore, a project website (if any) can be developed and published inside this account.
If your only need for a computer account is to have a place to develop/publish a project website, you may also obtain an account with us, but you may find it easier to use your u.arizona.edu account.
Your faculty sponsor can help you obtain access to the university's high performance computing systems.
