In this practical talk, I'll introduce software for connecting between two computers and opening a GUI on your local machine for doing work on another. I'll show what options can be changed in the interest of security or speed. I'll also introduce the machines the Department has set aside specifically for heavy-duty computations and how to use them from home or from the Department's labs.
