The goal of this course is to give you working knowledge of basic concepts of Analysis. ``Working knowledge'' means that you should be able to apply principles and methods that you will learn to solving concrete problems, both computational and conceptual. I will assign problems every Wednesday, and they are due the following Wednesday. Jared McBride will conduct problem solving sessions (one hour/week, TBA.) All homework assignments and all the announcements will be posted on this web page.

There will be one mid-semester test on Wednesday, October 17, and the final exam on Wednesday, December 12, from 10:30 to 12:30. Final grades will be assigned based on the results of these exams and on your homeworks. Both homeworks and the midsemester test are worth 25% of your final grade; the final exam is worth 50% of the grade. The grade of ``I'' can be awarded only in an exceptional case to a student who has a valid reason for not completing the course in time (illness, solid family reasons), and who has shown a passing performance in class.

In the Spring, there will be one mid-semester test, on March 1, and a take-home final. The problems for the final will be posted on April 24, and the final is due on May 1, at noon.
