Homework for 4.2, 4.3 is due on Monday, the 15th of April, in class.
Text: Discrete Mathematics by Ross and Wright, 5th ed.
Grading scheme: There will be three tests and a final examination. Each test is worth 100 points and the final is worth 200 points. The first test is on February 25th, the second test is on March 29th, and the third test is on April 26th. The final exam will take place on Wednesday, the 8th of May, from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. All the tests and the final exam are given in the usual classroom. The final exam will not be given earlier; please take that into account if you will be making travel plans.
There will be required daily homework assignments, normally due on the first class day of the following week. In total the daily assignments are worth 100 points, as much as one test.
There also will be regular quizzes. In total the quizzes will be worth 100 points.
The total number of points will be 700. Your total score will be converted into a precentage score. The cutoffs of 80%, 70%, 60%, and 50% for A, B, C, and D are guaranteed, but the cutoffs can be lowered if a lower overall class average warrants it.
Attendance: Students are expected to attend every scheduled class and to be familiar with the University Class Attendance policy as it appears in the General Catalog. It is the student's responsibility to keep informed of any announcements, syllabus adjustments or policy changes made during scheduled classes. Students are expected to behave in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and the Code of Academic Integrity. Incompletes: The grade of I will be awarded if all the following conditions are met:

4. The student agrees to make up the material in a short period of time.
