Students seeking a BA in Mathematics must have fourth semester proficiency in a second language.
Since the BA degree is not science-intensive, students seeking the BA in Mathematics need not complete science requirements outside those specificed in the University general education requirements.
This option is for students working toward the degree of Bachelor of Science in Education from the College of Education with a teaching major in Mathematics.
THE CORE COURSES: Should be completed by the end of the sophomore year.

NOTICE:
The courses in teaching and learning mathematics replace the minor requirement for this option. No additional minor is required.
Prospective secondary mathematics teachers must apply and be accepted to the College of Education. Students must have at least a 2.5 GPA in the four lower-division courses: 124 or 125, 129, 223, 215. Students who have not met this standard may not enroll in the mathematics education option courses without special permission.
