2 Elliptic paraboloid with removable octant

An elliptic paraboloid is a surface or solid, some of whose plane sections are parabolas, while others are ellipses. Cross-sections in the coordinate planes may be seen by removing the octant.

This model could also be used to demonstrate the idea of a local maximum of a function of two variables.
