Grade
You can earn up to 600 points: 300 points from
assignments, 100 from the midterm exam, and 200 from the final
exam. Your grade will depend on your score out of 600: 90% or higher
for an A, 80% for a B, 70% for a C, 60% for a D. A score below 60%
will give you an E.
Assignments
- There will be 6--8 assignments during the semester.
- Assignments should be legible, with pages stapled together and
with your name at the top of
each page.
- I will not accept late assignments. It is your responsibility to
remember to hand in your work.
- You may discuss assignments with me in office hours and on the course listserv. However, the
answers you hand in must be in your own words.
Missed Exams
I will be reluctant to give make-up exams, and
will need a good excuse with proof. If you know you will miss a test,
call 621-6892 before the test and leave a message and a telephone
number where you can be reached.
Withdrawals
Until the end of the fourth week of classes you
may drop the course using the online registration system, and
the enrolment will be deleted from your record. After that, you have
until the end of the eighth to drop the course. You will get a W if
your work so far merits a D or greater, an E otherwise.
Incompletes
The grade of I (incomplete) will be awarded if
all of the following conditions are met:
- You have completed all but a small portion of the required work.
- You have scored at least 60% on all the work completed.
- You have a valid reason for not completing the course on time.
- You agree to make up the material in a short period of time.
- You ask for the incomplete before grades are due, 48 hours after the final exam.
Academic Integrity
If you haven't already done so, please read the
University's Code of
Academic Integrity. I will take action on any evidence of cheating
or plagiarism.
