Assistantships, worth $1250 a semester, come in two varieties:

Undergraduate Research Assistants
learn about
mathematics research by working with a faculty advisor on a research
project. Duties include solving mathematical problems and writing a

Application for Research Assistantship
- Undergraduate Teaching Assistants
learn about teaching
mathematics by working with an instructor of a lower division course and
meeting regularly as a group with a mentor. Duties include grading, running
review sessions, possible classroom demonstrations, and four hours a
week in the algebra tutoring room. For more information about the Undergraduate Teaching Assistantships, contact

- Summer support ($1000 per month) for undergraduate research projects and
travel support to undergraduate research conferences are also available.
