Final Exam – Monday, 12/11 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. in ILC 150.  Arrive at least 15 minutes early,

so we can get organized and begin at 2:00 sharp.  Details about the test are posted here.

 

                                                            Final Exam study guide (PDF) and answers (PDF) – use these wisely!  Do not look at the answers

                                                                        or use notes or help of any kind as you attempt the questions in the study guide; this will help you

                                                                        determine which topics you know reasonably well already and which ones you need to study more.

 

                                                            Tutoring – the Math Dept. tutoring room is open through Wednesday, Dec. 6 (hours: 10 am – 3 pm)

for their hours during exam week.

The test should take ~30 minutes.

                                                                        Covers common Algebra mistakes.  No Trig, no Calculus.

                                                                        No calculators allowed.

                                                                        Many problems will be ‘all right’ or ‘all wrong’ or

have very little partial credit.

                                                                       

Possible question formats: 

show all work,

multiple choice, 

determine if statement is Correct or Incorrect,

rewrite an incorrect statement so it is correct.

 

                                                            Topics: 

Simplifying expressions,

solving equations,

common algebra mistakes.

                                                                        NO functions, graphing, word problems or trig on this test.

                                                           

 

 

                        Tutoring:                            Free tutoring is available in Math East room 145. 

Hours:  Monday – Thursday 10 – 3; Friday 10 – 2.
