This scholarship award aims to support outstanding undegraduate math majors.  Anyone may gift to this endowment. The endowment that funds the award was established by family and friends of late Professor Richard "Dick" Pierce, who was a member of the UA Mathematics Department from 1975-1990 and a valuable mentor to numerous young mathematicians.

Background

This award was endowed by family and friends of our late Professor, Richard "Dick" Pierce, who was a member of the Mathematics Department from 1975-1990. Professor Pierce enriched the lives of his colleagues and graduate students, and especially of the undergraduates in the department. He was a valuable mentor to numerous young mathematicians.

Eligibility: Non-graduating Mathematics Majors
Frequency: Once a year, in Spring
Amount: Varies
Application Period: Spring, due date around April

Awarded to outstanding students majoring in Mathematics.

Deadline:  First Friday in April.
