We offer programs leading to the Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees with a major in Mathematics. Concentrations are available in pure, applied, or computer mathematics, in mathematics education, or in probability and statistics. As there are no sharp boundaries between these areas of research, students are encouraged to pursue a broad range of mathematical topics.

Our program features include:

  • A variety of research specialties spanning the creation, application, and teaching of mathematics
  • Rigorous foundations in core mathematics
  • Financial support for five or six years through teaching assistantships, research assistantships, outreach scholarships, fellowships, and more
  • Second-year research experience (RTGs)
