Course Objectives
- To help students improve basic algebra skills by way of an integrated review of these skills as they are needed in the course.
- To promote problem-solving and critical thinking skills through the application of algebraic concepts to common situations.
- To enhance learning and understanding of algebraic concepts through the integrated use of graphing calculators.

To provide a sufficient algebra background for Math 113, Math 116, Math 120R, and Math 163/263.

THINK TANK (free tutoring for UA students)
- Graphing Calculator (TI-83 or TI-84 are recommended)
- Calculators that perform symbolic manipulations cannot be used. (i.e. TI-89, NSpire CAS, HP50g, etc.)

- ALEKS (platform for online assignments)
- The ALEKS program is billed to your Bursar account and accessed through D2L.

Thursday, February 20th, 2025 @ 7:30pm – 8:30pm
This exam will cover 5 sections:

Exam 1 Study Guide - Practice Exams:
In order to help you prepare and study for Exam 1, the Exam 1 Study Guide has been divided into four parts for you to use as Practice Exams. The problems in these Practice Exams are similar to the questions on the exam and are a great way to prepare for it!
Exam 1 Review: free optional in-person Review
- Date/Time: Wed, Feb 19th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm in PAS 201
- This free group review session is an opportunity to practice with more problems similar to ones you might see on the exam. These problems will be different from those on the Practice Exams.
- Students will need to bring a graphing calculator, pen/pencil, scratch paper, and a web-connected device to access a practice exam through Gradescope. Students are given 60 minutes to work on 20 questions in Gradescope. Then, instructors and GTAs will work through the questions, with answers and explanations.

A common comprehensive final exam is given in all sections of Math 112 at the time shown above.

Final Exam Review Session: free optional online Review
- Date/Time: Wed, May 7th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm on zoom
- This free group review session is an opportunity to practice problems on final exam material. These problems will be different from those on the Practice Exams.
- Students will need a graphing calculator, pen/pencil, scratch paper, and a web-connected device to join the review session on zoom.
- Material from all 3 units will be covered as time allows.
- This is not a tutoring session but an opportunity for students to work on new practice problems followed by explanations on how the answers were derived.
