Students interested in Applied Mathematics or Statistics and Data Science should know that the University of Arizona has PhD programs in these two areas: the Graduate Interdisciplinary Program (GIDP) in Applied Math and the Graduate Interdisciplinary Program in Statistics and Data Science. Although these programs are closely affiliated with the Department of Mathematics, they are separate from our graduate program, and they have distinct admissions processes and degree requirements.
